SESTRI PONEXTE , a See also:

town of See also:Liguria, See also:Italy, in the See also:province of See also:Genoa, 4 M. W. of that town on the See also:coast. Pop. (1901) 17,225. It has important See also:shipbuilding yards and See also:iron-See also:works, with factories for See also:macaroni, matches and See also:tobacco, tanneries and saw-See also:mills, and, in the vicinity, alasbasterquarries. A mile and a See also:half See also:west is Pegli, also a favourite seaside resort, with beautiful walks and See also:fine villas, among which the See also:Villa Pallavicina, with rare trees and fantastic buildings, fountains and grottoes, is noticeable.
