SIBPUR , a See also:

town of See also:British See also:India, in the See also:Hugli See also:district of See also:Bengal, on the right See also:bank of the See also:river Hugli, opposite See also:Calcutta. It is a suburb of See also:Howrah. It contains jute-See also:mills, a See also:flour-See also:mill, rope-See also:works, See also:brick-works and other See also:industrial establishments; the royal botanical See also:garden; and the See also:engineering See also:college with See also:electrical and See also:mining departments and a boarding-See also:house. The college, of See also:gothic See also:architecture, was originally built for a missionary institution, as the See also:Bishop's College, in 1824. It has recently been decided to remove it to See also:Ranchi, in See also:Chota See also:Nagpur.
