TUN , a See also:

town in the See also:province of See also:Khorasan, See also:Persia, situated about 15o m. S. of See also:Nishapur in 340 N., 58° 7' E., at an See also:elevation of 1200 ft. The town, which has a See also:population of 7000, is surrounded by a See also:wall, 20 ft. in height, raised on a high rampart of mud. It has three See also:gates, handsome bazaars, See also:good caravanserais and numerous large gardens and See also:fields producing See also:opium, See also:tobacco and See also:cotton. Some See also:silk is also grown.
