URDU , the name of that variety of See also:

Hindostani which borrows a See also:great See also:part of its vocabulary from See also:Persia and Arabic, as contrasted with " See also:Hindi," the variety which eschews such words, but borrows from See also:Sanskrit instead. It is spoken by Mussulmans and those See also:Hindus who have come under Mussulman influences, and has a considerable literature. See HINDOSTANI and H1NDOSTANI LITERATURE.
