CASTELLO , a seaport and the See also:capital of the See also:district of Vianna do Castello, See also:Portugal; at the mouth of the See also:river See also:Lima, which is here crossed by the See also:iron See also:bridge of the See also:Oporto-Valen9a do Minho railway. Pop. (1900) 10,000. Vianna do Castello has manufactures of See also:lace and See also:dairy produce. Its See also:fisheries are important. See also:Salmon and lampreys are exported, both fresh and preserved. The administrative district of Vianna do Castello coincides with the See also:northern See also:part of the See also:ancient See also:province of Entre Minho e See also:Douro (q.v.). Pop. (1900) 215,267; See also:area, 857 sq. m.
