YALTA , a seaport of See also:

Russia, in the See also:government of See also:Taurida, on the S. See also:coast of the See also:Crimea, at the See also:foot of the Yaila Mountains, 32 M. S. of See also:Simferopol. Pop. 13,269. It is the Galita or Jalila of the Arab geographers. Its roadstead is open, and the See also:annual mean temperature is 56.5° F. The See also:town is a See also:fashion-able summer resort.
