YAUCO , a See also:city of the See also:department of See also:Ponce, See also:Porto Rico, 20 M. W. by N. of the city of Ponce. Pop. (1899) 61o8. Yauco is served by the See also:American Railroad of Porto Rico. The city is situated about 150 ft. above the See also:sea, and has a delightful See also:climate. It is connected by a See also:wagon road with its See also:port, Guanica (pop. about moo), which has an excellent See also:harbour. See also:Coffee and See also:tobacco are the See also:chief See also:industries. Yauco was first settled in 1756.
