ZARHON , a See also:

mountain in See also:Morocco, 91 M. N. of See also:Mequinez, on whose hillside is the See also:town Mulai Idris Zarh6n, so called after Mulai Idrfs I., the founder of the Moorish See also:empire, who was buried there in A.D. 791. The whole town is considered as a See also:sanctuary, pays no taxes, provides no soldiers and is never visited See also:save by Mahommedans. _ Near the town are the ruins of Volubilis—Kasar Fara'on or See also:Pharaoh's See also:Castle, once the See also:Roman See also:capital, and the first See also:home of Idris.
