ABENDANA , the name of two Jewish theologians. (I) J idols (163o-I695), See also:

rabbi (Hakhans) of the See also:Spanish See also:Jews in See also:London from 1680. Like his See also:brother See also:Isaac, See also:Jacob Abendana had a circle of See also:Christian See also:friends, and his reputation led to the appreciation of Jewish scholarship by See also:modern Christian theologians. (2) ISAAC (e. 1650-171o), his brother, taught See also:Hebrew at See also:Cambridge and afterwards at See also:Oxford. He compiled a Jewish See also:Calendar and wrote Discourses on the Ecclesiastical and See also:Civil Polity of the Jews (1706).
