Greek "comic poet of the See also:Middle See also:Comedy, was See also:born about 394 B.C. at See also:Thurii and taken See also:early to See also:Athens, where he became a See also:citizen. See also:Plutarch says that he lived to the See also:age of 1o6, and that he died on the See also:stage while being crowned. According to Suidas, who calls him See also:Menander's See also:uncle, he wrote 245 comedies, of which some 130 titles are preserved. The fragments (about l000 lines) attest the wit and refinement of the author (See also:Koch, Comicorum Atticorum Fragmenta).
