Asti has still numerous See also:medieval towers, a See also:fine See also:Gothic See also:cathedral of the 14th See also:century, the remains of a See also:Christian See also:basilica of the 6th century, and the octagonal See also:baptistery of S. Pietro (11th century). It was the birthplace of the poet See also:Vittorio See also:Alfieri. In See also:ancient times it manufactured pottery. It is now famous for its sparkling See also:wine (Asti spumante), and is a considerable centre of See also:trade.
