VITTORIO , a See also:

town and episcopal See also:residence of the See also:province of Treviso, See also:Venetia, See also:Italy, 25 M. by See also:rail N. of Treviso, 466 ft. above See also:sea-level. Pop. (1901) 2977 (town), 19,133 (See also:commune). It is a summer resort, with See also:sulphur and saline springs (51.8° to 59° F.), and was formed in 1879 by the See also:union of Ceneda (the episcopal see) and Serravalle. The See also:cathedral contains paintings by Pomponio See also:Amalteo (a See also:pupil of See also:Pordenone) and others. At Serravalle is a See also:church with a See also:fine See also:altar-piece (1547) by See also:Titian. It is a seat of the silkworm breeding and See also:silk-throwing See also:industries.
