PORDENONE , a See also:

town of the See also:province • of See also:Udine, See also:Venetia, See also:Italy, 30 M. W. by S. of Udine on the railway to Treviso. Pop. (1901), 8425 (town); 12,409 (See also:commune). It was the birthplace of the painter generally known as I1 Pordenone (q.v.). Paintings from his See also:brush adorn the See also:cathedral (which has a See also:fine See also:brick campanile), and others are preserved in the See also:gallery of the town See also:hall. See also:Cotton See also:industries are active, and See also:silk and pottery are manufactured.
