BANNOCK , the name of a See also:

county in the See also:south-See also:east of the See also:state of See also:Idaho, U.S.A., and of a See also:river in the same state, which runs northward in See also:Oneida county into the Snake or See also:Lewis river. It is taken from that of the Bannock See also:Indians (see See also:BANATE), a corruption of the native Panaiti.
