town of the See also:province of Leyte, See also:island of Leyte, Philippine Islands, on the W. See also:coast. Pop. (1903) 22,990. The town proper is situated at the mouth of the Pagbanganan See also:river, 45 M. S.S.W. of Tacloban, the provincial See also:capital. A See also:superior grade of See also:hemp is exported. Other products are See also:rice, See also:corn, See also:copra, cacao, See also:sugar, See also:cattle and horses. The See also:Cebu See also:dialect of the Visayan See also:language is spoken.
