He also published in 16o1 Le nuove musiche, a collection of songs which is of See also:great importance in the See also:history of singing as well as in that of the transition See also:period of musical See also:composition. He was a lyric composer rather than a dramatist like Peri, and the genuine beauty of his See also:works makes them acceptable even at the See also:present See also:day.
