department of an See also:army charged with the See also:provision of supplies, both See also:food and See also:forage, for the troops. The See also:supply of military stores such as See also:ammunition is not included in the duties of a commissariat. In almost every army the duties of transport and supply are performed by the same See also:corps of depart-See also:mental troops.
