COOMA , a See also:

town of See also:Beresford See also:county, New See also:South See also:Wales, See also:Australia, 264 M. by See also:rail S.S.W. of See also:Sydney. Pop. (1901) 1938. The town is the centre of a See also:pastoral See also:district and has a large See also:trade in furs, while at Bushy See also:Hill, a mile from the town, is a small See also:gold-See also:field. Cooma, which is pleasantly situated at an See also:elevation of 2657 ft., is the tourist centre for visitors to the Yarrangobilly Caves and See also:Mount Kosciusko and its See also:observatory. The caves are distant 65 m. from the town, situated in the See also:side of a hill, over-looking the Yarrangobilly See also:river; they are seven in number and of remarkable beauty and extent.
