DEISTER , a See also:

chain of hills in See also:Germany, in the Prussian See also:province of See also:Hanover, about 15 m. S.W. of the See also:city of Hanover. It runs in a See also:north-See also:westerly direction from Springe in the S. to Roden-See also:berg in the N. It has a See also:total length of 14 m., and rises in the Hofeler to a height of 1250 ft. The chain is well-wooded and abounds in See also:game. There are some See also:coal mines and See also:sandstone quarries.
