He came to See also:Paris to study at the Central School of Arts and Manufactures, and subsequently settled there, taking up a See also:post in the See also:education See also:office. He became a See also:disciple of Leconte de See also:Lisle and one of the most distinguished of the Parnassians. In the See also:death of Stephane See also:Mallarme in 1898 he was acclaimed See also:prince of poets " by " See also:les jeunes." His See also:works include: Poetises et poesies (1864); Levees closes (1867); Paroles d'un vainest (1871) ; La Rencontre, a dramatic See also:scene (1875) and Les Amants (1879). His Poesies completes (1872) were crowned by the French See also:Academy. A See also:complete edition of his .works, was published in 2 vols., 1894-1896.
