DIGOIN , a See also:

town of See also:east-central See also:France, in the See also:department of See also:Saone-et-See also:Loire, on the right See also:bank of the Loire, 55 M. W.N.W. of See also:Macon on the See also:Paris-See also:Lyon railway. Pop. (1906) 5321. It is situated at the See also:meeting places of the Loire, the Lateral See also:canal of the Loire and the Canal du Centre, which here crosses the Loire by a See also:fine See also:aqueduct. The town carries on considerable manufactures of See also:faience, pottery and See also:porcelain. The See also:port on the Canal du Centre has considerable See also:traffic in See also:timber, See also:sand, See also:iron, See also:coal and See also:stone.
