He was employed by See also:Ptolemy Euergetes, who sent out a See also:fleet under him to explore the Arabian See also:Sea. After two successful voyages, Eudoxus See also:left the See also:Egyptian service, and proceeded to See also:Cadiz with the See also:object of fitting out an expedition for the purpose of See also:African See also:discovery; and we learn from See also:Strabo, who utilized the results of his observations, that the See also:veteran explorer made at least two voyages southward along the See also:coast of See also:Africa.
