FLEURUS , a See also:village of See also:Belgium, in the See also:province of Hennegau, 5 M. N.F. of See also:Charleroi, famous as the See also:scene of several battles. The first of these was fought on See also:August 19/29, 1622, between the forces of See also:Count See also:Mansfeld and See also:Christian of See also:Brunswick and the Spaniards under Cordovas, the latter being defeated. The second is described below, and the third and See also:fourth, incidents of See also:Jourdan's See also:campaign of 1794, under See also:FRENCH REVOLUTIONARY See also:WARS.
