FLUMINI See also:

MAGGIORE , a See also:town of the See also:province of Cagliari, See also:Sardinia, to m. by road N. of See also:Iglesias, and 5 M. from the W. See also:coast. Pop. (1901) town 3908; See also:commune 9647. It is the centre of a. considerable See also:lead and See also:zinc See also:mining See also:district. Three See also:miles to the S. are the ruins of a See also:temple erected probably in the See also:time of See also:Commodus (Corpus inscr. See also:Lat. x., See also:Berlin, 1883, No. 7539). They seem to See also:mark the site of Metalla (mines), a station on the coast road from See also:Sulci to See also:Tharros, and the centre of the mining district in See also:Roman times. At Flumini Maggiore itself were found two ingots of lead, one bearing a See also:stamp with See also:Hadrian's name.
