S.E. by See also:rail, 105 ft. above See also:sea-level. Pop. (1901) 2299 (See also:town); 5795 (See also:commune). The See also:ancient Forum Popillii, a station on the Via Aemilia, was destroyed by Grimuald in 672. Whether its site is occupied by the See also:present town is not certain; the former should perhaps be sought a mile or so farther to the S.E., where were found most of the See also:inscriptions of which the See also:place of See also:discovery is certain. Forlimpopoli was again destroyed by See also:Cardinal See also:Albornoz in 136o, and rebuilt by Sinibaldo Ordelaffi, who constructed the well-preserved See also:medieval See also:castle (1380), rectangular with four circular towers at the corners.
