FUNKIA , in See also:

botany, a genus of rather handsome, See also:hardy, herbaceous See also:plants belonging to the natural See also:order See also:Liliaceae, and natives of See also:China and See also:Japan. They are tuberous, with broadly ovate or See also:heart-shaped leaves and racemes of See also:white or See also:pale See also:lilac, drooping, See also:funnel-shaped See also:flowers. They are useful for the See also:borders of a shrubbery, the See also:lawn or See also:rock-See also:work, or may be grown in pots for the greenhouse. The plants are propagated by dividing the crowns in autumn or when growth begins in See also:spring.
