GALION , a See also:

city of See also:Crawford See also:County, See also:Ohio, U.S.A., about 75 M. S.W. of See also:Cleveland. Pop. (1890) 6326; (1900) 7282 (703 See also:foreign- See also:born); (1910) 7214. It is served by the Cleveland, See also:Cincinnati, See also:Chicago & St See also:Louis, and the See also:Erie See also:railways, and by an interurban electric railway. The city is about I165 ft. above See also:sea level, and has extensive railway shops (of the Erie railway) and manufactories of See also:brick and See also:tile machinery, carriages and wagons, and See also:grain and See also:seed cleaners. The See also:municipality owns and operates its electric-See also:lighting plant. Galion was laid out as a See also:town in 1831, was incorporated as a See also:borough in 184o, and was chartered as a city in 1878.
