GREAT See also:BEAR See also:LAKE , an extensive See also:sheet of fresh See also:water in the See also:north-See also:west of See also:Canada, between 65° and 67° N., and 117° and 123° W. It is of very irregular shape, has an estimated See also:area of 11,200 sq. m., a See also:depth of 270 ft., and is upwards of 200 ft. above the See also:sea. It is 195 M. in length, and from 25 to 45 in breadth, though the greatest distance between its See also:northern and, See also:southern arms is about 18o m. The Great Bear See also:river discharges its See also:waters into the See also:Mackenzie river. It is full of See also:fish, and the neighbouring See also:country, though barren and uncultivated, contains quantities of See also:game.
