KARLSTADT or See also:

CARLSTADT (Hungarian, Ktrolyvaros; Croatian, Karlovac) , a royal See also:free See also:city, See also:municipality and See also:garrison See also:town in the See also:county of See also:Agram, Croatia-Slavonia; See also:standing on hilly ground beside the See also:river Kulpa, which here receives the Korana and the Dobra. Pop. (1900), 7396. Karlstadt is on the railway from Agram to See also:Fiume. It consists of the fortress, now obsolete, the inner town and the suburbs. Besides the See also:Roman See also:Catholic and Orthodox churches, its See also:chief buildings are the Franciscan monastery, See also:law-courts and several large See also:schools, including one for military cadets: Karlstadt has a considerable transit See also:trade in See also:grain, See also:wine, See also:spirits and See also:honey, and manufactures the liqueur called rosoglio.
