KHANDWA , a See also:

town of See also:British See also:India, in the See also:Nimar See also:district of the Central Provinces, of which it is the headquarters, 353 M. N.E. of Bombay by See also:rail. Pop. (1901), 19,401. Khandwa is an See also:ancient town, with Jain and other temples. As a centre of See also:KHARGA 771 See also:trade, it has superseded the old See also:capital of See also:Burhanpur. It is an important railway junction, where the See also:Malwa See also:line from See also:Indore meets the See also:main line of the See also:Great See also:Indian See also:Peninsula. There are factories for ginning and pressing See also:cotton, and raw cotton is exported.
