LUDWIGSLUST , a See also:

town of See also:Germany, in the See also:grand-duchy of See also:Mecklenburg-See also:Schwerin, 22 M. by See also:rail S. by E. of Schwerin. Pop. (1905) 6728. The See also:castle was built by the See also:duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, See also:Frederick II., in 1772-1776. There is also another ducal See also:residence, a See also:fine See also:park and a See also:monument of the grand duke, Frederick See also:Francis I. (d. 1837). The town has a See also:church constructed on the See also:model of a See also:Greek See also:temple. It has manufactures of chemicals and other small See also:industries. Ludwigslust was founded by the duke Frederick, being named after this duke's See also:father, See also:Christian See also:Louis II. It became a town in 1876.
