MONA See also:MONKEY , a See also:West See also:African representative of the See also:group of monkeys generally known as guenons, and scientifically as Cercopithecus. The mona (C. mona) typifies a sub-genus of the same name (Mona) characterized, among other features, by the presence of a See also:black See also:band See also:running from the See also:angle of each See also:eye to the See also:ear. In the mona itself the See also:general See also:colour of the upper parts is black, with a pair of See also:oval See also:white spots near the See also:root of the tail, while a band across the forehead and the whole under See also:surface are likewise white.
