He obtained a very See also:fine collection of minerals for the museum, was eminently successful as a teacher, and achieved a wide reputation among mining See also:engineers. The following are his more important publications: fiber aufrecht See also:im Gebirgsgestein eingeschlossene fossile Baumstdmme and andere Vegetabilien (1819-1821); Das Gebirge in Rheinland-Westphalen, nach mineralogischem and chemischem Bezuge (4 vols., 1822-1826) ; See also:Die Entstehung der Erde (1843); and Der Laacher See and See also:seine vulkanischen Umgebungen (1870). The Carboniferous plant Noeggerathia, allied to the Zamias and Cycads, was named after him. He died at Bonn on the 13th of See also:September 1877.
