OLD FORGE , a See also:

borough of Lackawanna See also:county, See also:Pennsylvania, U.S.A., on the Lackawanna See also:river, about 6 m. S.W. of See also:Scranton. Pop. (1900) 5630 (2494_ See also:foreign-See also:born, principally Italians); (1910) 1i,324. It is served by the See also:Delaware, Lackawanna & Western and the Lehigh Valley See also:railways. The See also:principal public buildings are the See also:town-See also:hall and the high school. The borough is situated in the See also:anthracite See also:coal region, and the See also:mining of coal is the principal See also:industry, though there are also various manufactures. Old Forge was settled in 183o and incorporated as a borough in 1899.
