SARAGHARI , a small signalling See also:

It is memorable for the stout See also:defence made by its See also:garrison of 21 sepoys of the 36th Sikhs in 1897. Saraghari, a See also:mere mud See also:block-See also:house with a wooden See also:door and a dead-See also:angle, was held for six and a See also:half See also:hours against seven or eight thousand Orakzais, till the 21 Sikhs were finally overwhelmed and killed to a See also:man. A memorial in See also:commemoration was unveiled at Ferozepore in 1904.
