SCHONINGEN , a See also:

town of See also:Germany, in the duchy of See also:Brunswick, 29 M. by See also:rail W. of See also:Magdeburg. Pop. (1905) 9298. It has three churches, and manufactures of chemicals, machinery and sausages. The See also:place is mentioned as See also:early as 747 and received municipal rights in 1370. It has the remains of a ducal See also:residence and some interesting wooden houses.
