WARS , the name given to the contests between See also:Austria and See also:Prussia for the See also:possession of See also:Silesia. The first (1740- 1742) and second (1744-1745) wars formed a See also:part of the See also:great See also:European struggle called the See also:War of the See also:Austrian See also:Succession (q.v.), and the third war (1756-1762) similarly a part of the Seven Years' War (q.v.).
