STEWARTON , a municipal and See also:

police See also:burgh, in the Cunning-See also:ham See also:district of See also:Ayrshire, See also:Scotland. Pop. (r9o1), 2858. It is situated on Annick See also:Water, 19 m. S.W. of See also:Glasgow by the Glasgow & See also:South-Western railway. The See also:town lies in a See also:fine agricultural district, famed for its See also:dairy produce. Two See also:cattle and two See also:horse fairs are held yearly; at the 'See also:October cattle See also:fair there is the largest show of Ayrshire dairy stock in Scotland. About 2 M. See also:north by See also:west is See also:Dunlop (pop. 473)) which gave its name to a See also:cheese that at one See also:time commanded a large See also:market.
