TERLIZZI , a See also:town in See also:Apulia, See also:Italy, in the See also:province of See also:Bari, and 18 m. by See also:steam See also:tramway W. from that town, situated in the midst of a fertile See also:plain, 627 ft. above See also:sea-level. Pop. (1901) 23,394. It has a See also:castle which at one See also:time was very strong, and occasionally resorted to by the See also:Emperor See also:Frederick II. and afterwards by the Aragonese sovereigns. The walls and towers of the town remain, but the See also:fosse has been turned into boulevards. Terlizzi has some See also:trade in the See also:wine and See also:fruit of the See also:district. Near it, in an See also:ancient See also:tomb., was found in 1745 a See also:fine inkstand inlaid in See also:silver.
