TOLFA , a See also:

town of the See also:province of See also:Rome, See also:Italy, to m. E.N.E. of Civitavecchia by road, 1558 ft. above See also:sea-level. Pop. (19o1), 3956. It is the See also:chief See also:place in the Tolf a Mountains, an See also:extinct volcanic See also:group between Civitavecchia and the See also:Lake of See also:Bracciano. Vapours are emitted which See also:deposit See also:sulphur and See also:alum, and some See also:mining is carried on. The output of alum averages 4000 to 5000 tons a See also:year, and is mostly exported from Civitavecchia.
