ZOLLNER, JOHANN KARL See also:FRIEDRICH (1834-1882) , See also:German astronomer and physicist, was See also:born at See also:Berlin on the 8th of See also:November 1834. From 1872 he held the See also:chair of See also:astrophysics at See also:Leipzig University. He wrote numerous papers on See also:photometry and spectrum See also:analysis in See also:Poggendorff's Annalen and Beri•ehte der k. sdchsischen Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften, two See also:works on See also:celestial photometry (Grundzuge einer allgemeinen Photometric See also:des Himmels, Berlin, 1861, 40, and Photometrische Untersuchungen, Leipzig, 1865, 8vo), and a curious See also:book, Ueberdie Natur der Cometen (Leipzig, 1872, 3rd ed. 1883). He died at Leipzig on the 25th of See also:April 1882.
