AGUADILLA , a See also:town and See also:port near the See also:northern extremity of the W. See also:coast of See also:Porto Rico. Pop. (1899) 6425. It has a fairly See also:good and safe anchorage, and is the commercial outlet for a very fertile agricultural See also:district. The town is attractively situated and well built, and is connected by railway with See also:Mayaguez, 20 M. distant, and also with See also:Ponce and See also:San Juan. Theneighbouring district produces See also:sugar-See also:cane, See also:tobacco, See also:cattle, cocoanuts, oranges and lemons. The See also:bay is supposed to have been first visited by See also:Columbus (See also:November 1493), though the town was not founded until 1775.
