AMHERST , the See also:

county See also:town of See also:Cumberland county, and See also:port of entry in Novia See also:Scotia, See also:Canada, at the See also:head of Chignecto See also:Bay and on the Intercolonial railway, 138 in. from See also:Halifax. Pop. (1901) 4964. It is situated in a See also:rich agricultural and See also:mining See also:district, and contains county and railway buildings and numerous See also:mills and factories. It is the distributing centre for the surrounding district, and exports railway carriages, engines, boilers, stoves, &c.
