N. of the fortifications of See also:Paris. Pop. (I0o6) 33,358. Its manufactures include cardboard, See also:glue, See also:oils, See also:colours, fertilizers, chemical products, See also:perfumery, &c. During the See also:middle ages and till See also:modern times Aubervilliers was the resort of numerous pilgrims, who came to pay See also:honour to Notre See also:Dame See also:des Vertus. In 1814 the locality was the See also:scene of a stubborn combat between the See also:French and the See also:Allies.
