BACKNANG , a See also:

town of See also:Germany, in the See also:kingdom of See also:Wurttemberg, 19 m. by See also:rail N.E. from See also:Stuttgart. Pop. (1900) 7650. It has an interesting See also:church, dating from the 12th See also:century, and notable tanneries and See also:leather factories, woollen and See also:cloth See also:mills. In 1325 Backnang was ceded to Wurttemberg by See also:Baden. In the vicinity is the Wilhelmsheim See also:sanatorium for consumptives.
