Upon the recommendation of Say he was in 1825 appointed See also:professor of See also:industrial See also:economy and of See also:history at the See also:Conservatoire See also:des Arts et Metiers. In 1833 he succeeded Say as professor of See also:political economy at the same institution, and in 1838 was elected a member of the Academie des Sciences Morales et Politiques. In 1838 appeared his most important See also:work, Histoire de l'economie politique en See also:Europe, depuis See also:les anciens jusqu'd nos jours. He was indefatigable in See also:research, and for the purposes of his economic inquiries travelled over almost the whole of Europe and visited See also:Algeria and the See also:East. He contributed much to our knowledge of the conditions of the working-classes, especially in See also:France. Other See also:works of Blanqui were De la situation economique et morale de l'Espagne en 1846; Resume de l'histoire du See also:commerce et de l'industrie (1826); Precis elementaire d'economie politique (1826); Les Classes ouvrieres en France (1848).
