BUGTI , a Baluch tribe of Rind (Arab) origin, numbering about 15,500, who occupy the hills to the See also:

east of the See also:Sind-See also:Peshin railway, between See also:Jacobabad and See also:Sibi, with the Marris (a cognate tribe) to the See also:north of them. Like the Marris, the Bugtis are physically a magnificent See also:race of See also:people, See also:fine horsemen, See also:good swordsmen and hereditary robbers. An expedition against them was organized by See also:Sir C. See also:Napier in 1845, but they were never brought under See also:control till Sir See also:Robert See also:Sandeman ruled See also:Baluchistan, Since the construction of the railway, which completely outflanks their See also:country, they have been fairly orderly.
