After See also:finishing his studies in See also:Germany he visited See also:Italy, where he graduated as See also:doctor of See also:medicine. On his return he was invited to reside at the courts of several princes, but preferred to See also:settle in his native See also:town of Nuremberg, where he had a botanical See also:garden and formed extensive collections. He wrote a Hortus Medicus (1588) and several other See also:works. He died at Nuremberg on the 11th of See also:October 1598.
