CHELYABINSK , a See also:

town of See also:Russia, in the See also:Orenburg See also:government, at the See also:east See also:foot of the Urals, is the See also:head of the Siberian railway, 624 M. by See also:rail E.N.E. of See also:Samara and 154 M. by rail S.S.E. of See also:Ekaterinburg. Pop. (1900) 25,505. It has tanneries and distilleries, and is the centre of the See also:trade in See also:corn and See also:pro-duce of See also:cattle for the Ural See also:iron-See also:works. The town was founded in 1658.
