CHORLU , TcxoRLAU or SCHORLAU, a See also:

town of See also:European See also:Turkey, in the vilayet of See also:Adrianople; on the See also:left See also:bank of the Chorlu, a small left-See also:hand tributary of the Ergene, 20 M. N.E. of See also:Rodosto. Pop. (1905) about 22,000, of whom one-See also:half are Greeks, one-third See also:Turks, and the See also:remainder Armenians and See also:Jews. Chorlu has a station on the See also:Constantinople-Adrianople See also:branch of the See also:Oriental See also:railways. It manufactures woollen See also:cloth (shayak) and native carpets, and exports cereals, oil-cloth, carpets, See also:cattle, poultry, fresh See also:meat, See also:game, fruits, See also:wine, See also:alcohol, hides and bones.
